This particular 1963 is a very interesting color, somewhat different than the normal Gibson sunburst. It is a bit more of a chocolate brown, not quite as dark as most.
The neck pickup in this guitar is a PAF. 1963 is quite late for a PAF. By 63, most guitars came equipped with Patent Number pickups. The instrument weighs 8lbs. 4oz.
There is also some interesting finish checking on the back of the neck.
It is otherwise a quite typical example of the year.
