1964 is one of the most popular years for the ES-335. By 64, the neck shape had gotten closer to the classic shape of mid-1959, everyone's favorite. 1964 also had the highest production numbers of the era, so there are a lot of them around.
Note the black reflector knobs used on the Cherry versions of the 335.
Note the difference in the shape of the horns relative to the earlier examples. The horns are quite slim in 64 but not as slim as after the Golden Era.
It has great color on the Kluson buttons.
This particular guitar has great color and figure in the top, but an odd fading to the back, as shown in the photo. It is almost as if it sat with its back to the window for an extended period of time. It weighs an even 8lbs.
