Gibson Peghead

The Golden Era of the Gibson Thinlines

From the owner... "This guitar was missing its orange label. Based on its medium neck contour (not as chunky as a '59 and not as thin as a late' 60) this guitar likely dates to mid-1960. It also still has all the "early" ES features such as the long pickguard, clear top "Burst" knobs, etc. An original orange label was procured as were the correct rubber stamps and a mid-1960 serial number was assigned, A33553! The guitar features a 2-piece top which is not uncommon for Gibson thinlines of this era. Not a closet-queen, this guitar has been played! The back of the neck was previously refinished (a fine job!), it has been refretted and had Grover tuners at one time (now restored to the original Klusons). The guitar possesses two fine PAF pickups with outputs of 8.1 and 8.2 ohms respectively for neck and bridge positions. It sounds great and that is the most important thing, no? This road-warrior should continue to play the Blues for many more years to come!"
